Weekly update from AgManager.info

In case you missed last week’s AgManager.info update, here are some of the highlights!

Our resident researchers, Melissa McKendree, Glynn Tonsor and colleagues provide responses to survey questions assessing in their research paper entitled on U.S public and cow-calf producer perceptions of animal welfare in the beef industry.  The results are available in the research paper “Viewpoints of the U.S. Public and Cow-Calf Producers on Animal Welfare in the Beef Industry.”

Dustin PendellA hearty welcome to Dr. Dustin L. Pendell as the new addition to the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University. His broad research interests include livestock and animal health issues that span from the producer through the meat supply chain to the final consumer. Dustin’s interdisciplinary research has been funded by federal agencies and commodity organizations and appears in various academic and outreach publications.

2015 Risk and Profit Conference is almost here and now is the time to register! The conference is a two-day conference covering hot topics and the latest research from the K-State Dept. of Agricultural Economics. This year’s theme is “Dealing with Drought” and will take place  on August 20th through the 21st at the K-State Alumni Center on the main campus in Manhattan.

In this week’s AgManager update our very own Rich Llewelyn previews K-State’s 2015 Risk and Profit Conference for agricultural producers and allied agriculture professionals, coming up in two weeks…he’ll outline the excellent lineup of features speakers, as well as the breakout session topics.
